TÜBİTAK 3005 Program Project Support to Assist. Prof. Sezin Öner Yaman

17 April 2023

We’re pleased to announce that the project “Investigation of Individual and Event-Based Factors that Underlying the Detection of Fake News in the Context of Gender-Related News”, coordinated by Assist. Prof. Sezin Öner Yaman from the Department of Psychology has been funded by TÜBİTAK 3005 Program

The proposed research project will focus on unrealized and contextualized events related to gender and examine the formation of the moment when fake news is accepted as real. Accordingly, the first work package will determine the most effective cognitive schema activation method. Then, in two primary studies, the team will focus on gender-themed news and determine to what extent the memories developed for these fake news are affected by individual and event-based differences.

We congratulate our faculty member and wish her success.
