MENA Newsletter
MENA Newsletter
KHU and VCC are planning to issue a brief electronic Newsletter called "FDI Spotlight: Middle East and North Africa”, every six months. The newsletter will cover the latest FDI developments in the MENA+ region. The newsletter will cover data and analysis on FDI flows, stocks and operational data, on cross-border M&As, changes in FDI laws, IPA news, – in short, anything that is directly related to FDI.
Each issue will include a brief interview with a government leader, corporate executives and a commentary on a topical issue by an academic.
The vision is that anyone (in academia, business, government, the media) interested in up-to-date material on FDI in MENA will, eventually, turn first to this Newsletter and to the database built up in the course of issuing it to obtain the relevant information and analysis.
The Newsletter and the data base being built would be a joint undertaking of Kadir Has University and Columbia University. The editors will be from Kadir Has and Columbia and will provide guidance, help with getting people on board for interviews, and exercise quality control.
The newsletter will cover the following MENA+ countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian territories (the West Bank and Gaza Strip), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
MENA+ includes following countries based on World Bank classification; Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen plus Turkey, Palestinian territories, and Mauritania.
