Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate program in Economics trains students to think objectively and independently about a wide range of economic issues and problems. It promotes an active learning approach to economics in which students think about real problems in an analytically rigorous way. Globalization and Turkey’s prospective European Union membership increase the need for qualified economists. The economics curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional careers in industry, finance, government, and academia. Students may specialize in fields such as the European Union, International Economics, Industrial Economics, Quantitative Economics and Economic Theory.
Graduate Program
The graduate programs provide a rigorous toolkit for thinking about the economy and about economic policy. The programs are designed to give students a solid background in both economic theory and the techniques used in empirical research. The students in the MA Program acquire essential skills for a variety of jobs in public institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and private sector. Some of our graduates go on to academic careers. Students may specialize in fields such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economic Development, Political Economy and Industrial Economics.
The Ph.D. program focuses on training students to conduct independent research conforming with the highest international standards.
